Artist's Comments

I struggled to get the exposure sorted for this image as the dynamic range was way above what the sensor could handle, so I settled for getting the highlight features right.

A simple conversion to Black and White gives the image a nice impact (imo)

Gorgeous, it really is. You've captured a nice amount of motion with the water droplets, and the light coming from behind the Egret (it is an egret isn't it, a snowy or a cattle egret or something similar?) I really love how the light coming through the feathers isn't too bright but instead highlights the details instead of blurring them out like too much light probably would. The great thing about this, is that there is still a significant amount of light in front of the bird, allowing details on this side of it to bed defined. So great capture =)

An absolutely stunning shot here. The black and white contrast, aided by that fantastic highlighting, makes an incredibly dramatic, as well as elegant piece.

I knew it was an Egret, but I've never heard of the Little Egret of the UK. Heh, then again, I'm not much of a bird watcher.

Keep up the fantastic work!

I see you put "Advanced Critique" for this image, but honestly, I have nothing to critique! I think it looks stunning! I love the water droplet hanging from his beak. Gorgeous shot!!!
