I wish I could of brushed the hair off the eye but I think the fly would of objected lol

I've noted on some earlier images that shooting at f16 with this lens tends to soften the image because of diffraction issues so I've dropped back to f11 to see if there is any improvement.

Full frame uncropped image. Full view recommended

It's a Canon MP-E65 macro lens, a bitch to use but it does produce the results :)

Kev, this is my favorite shot. Love the dewdrop, you can
see the surface tension as the ant leans on it. Nice.

excellent work, old man :D

i find that the hair on the eye almost makes this image feel more real . . . with the detail of the multi-celled eyes being beyond reality
