The humble Robin, a beautiful bird that will always fascinate me. This was taken when I was photographing other birds and the robin decided I should pay attention to it instead. It started hopping around me and on me completely relaxed about me being there. A second camera with a 150mm macro lens was used to get this image but half the time the robin was inside the minimum focus range of the lens or was sat on top of it! Full frame using a 580EX gun to provide some light.
Commentsgorgeous. did you know "[little] read breast" is what it's called over here in dutch when you translate it literally: "roodborstje"
-- my gallery contains some bugs. Stunning image. Your description of this encounter is very similar to what I've noted in my work with birds. Some of them are simply not afraid of humans, and don't mind getting close. You certainly took advantage of this encounter to produce a wonderful image not commonly seen or captured. Very well done!

-- "Wisdom comes with age. Sometimes age comes alone!" Ian Weatherburn Photography The Sigma 150mm macro lens is pretty sharp Sheryl. I am tempted by a Canon 100mm macro though lol
