My first month as a Gallery Director
Almost a month under my belt as a Gallery Director

At first I thought what the hell have I done! but after the initial panic I am honestly enjoying every minute of it. I've only got 11 months left and that is kinda depressing me already lol. So little time and so much I want to do.
On that note I'm away on Holiday from the 28th July until the 4th of August so nothing will be done here during that period. Please refer to my personal journal here
[link] for more info. I am scared stiff of opening dA up when I get back, the message centre will be in melt-down mode so it will take a few days to catch up
In the first month I have received 211 suggestions for Daily Deviations. Of those 211 suggestions I have used 31 of them. Of the remaining suggestions 44 are 'maybe but unlikely' and 136 have been rejected.
The main reasons so many images are rejected:
Out of focus or camera shake
*
Images that have been cropped to within a pixel of their life
*
Horizons not level (a personal pet hate)
*
Poor exposure causing either blown highlights or excessive noise
The July Daily Deviations in the Animals, Plants and Nature Galleries can be seen here

I am probably moving in excess of 100 images per day because people aren't selecting the correct category for their images.
Please if you see an image that is in the wrong category then report it using the report violation link that is on every image. It will take you seconds to do it, no one will die or get shot if you press the button and the Gallery Directors will be able to quickly and simply correct the image.
Don't get frustrated if you see a miscat please report it.

Animals give me more pleasure through the viewfinder of a camera than they ever did in the crosshairs of a gunsight. And after I've finished "shooting," my unharmed victims are still around for others to enjoy. ~ Jimmy Stewart
